Using the Line Monitor application
Line Monitor is a tool often used by Tech Support to trouble shoot line issues
on a Dialer. It allows you to use one of the Dialer's lines to call your local
phone and then listen in to the problem lines.
The following explains how to use it effectively:
First make sure you turn off one of the lines in your Campaign by clicking on it
to turn it yellow.
Open the Line Monitor window from the shortcut on the desktop.

Follow the steps in the Line Monitor window to initialize the line to use for
monitoring the other lines.

1. Select the type of lines that you are using.
Analog: Analog lines and cards such as D/41ESC and D/160SC
Digital: This would be for Flat T1(D4/AMI) and D/240SC T1 cards.
ISDN Digital: This is for PRI T1 lines and D/240SC T1 cards, E1 Lines and cards or SIP trunks.
2. Engine is referring to the type of voice engine used:
V Voice for analog and D4/AMI T1's.
CTI32 for PRI T1's, E1's and SIP trunks.
3. Select the supervisor line. This will be the line you disabled in Spitfire earlier
and will be used to call you local phone.
4. Click on Init Line and click OK when it has initialized.
5. Enter the supervisor phone number. This will be the exact digits that
need to be dialed to ring your phone. 1+ or 9, no dashes or parentheses.
Example: 12145551234 or 9,12145551234 or 5551234
Answer the call with "Hello" and click OK when it says Dialing Done.
6. Now select the line number to monitor, being the problem line and
click the Start Monitoring button to listen to the line.
Change the line and hit Start Monitoring again to listen to another line.
7. If you want to test playing a wav file you can use this step to select it.
8. When finished monitoring, click Hangup. Or click it to select a different
supervisor phone number and then click Dial again to call it.
Note: Some common reasons for errors in Line Monitor are that the line selected
as the supervisor line is stuck or being used. Also make sure you have the latest
version of Line Monitor.
