Line Testing with Dialogic Multi-Threaded Voice

Dialogic Multi-Threaded Voice is an application that can be used for testing phone lines
individually, without using any SpitFire software settings.
It can be used for testing analog or digital, Flat T1 lines but not PRI T1 lines.

Note: See this article for using ISDIAG to test PRI lines through Dialogic.

Multi-Threaded Voice is very useful for testing lines when calls are not
being made successfully through SpitFire.
1. Open this application by going to Start->Programs->
Intel Dialogic System Software->Sample Programs->Multi-Threaded Voice.

2. Now select the line you want to test by clicking on File->Open and selecting the line number.
The way the lines are numbered is in groups of 4, starting with B1C1, B1C2 and so on.
B4C4 would be line 16, B6C4 would be line 24, etc.

Note: If this is a D/240SC T1 card, you will have to select the line, then
answer Yes to it asking if it is a digital line and then open the line again.

3. Now you can make a test call by clicking Function->Dial and typing the
phone number into the box. Make sure you include a 1 if needed or that
you only put 7 or 10 digits if that is what is required.

Make sure you select Perfect Call Analysis so that you can get a response
back regarding what the result was, in case your phone does not ring.

Note: If this is a T1 card, you will have to click Function-> OffHook and
then Function->Dial. make sure you do this quickly so the digital line does
not time out.

Here is an example of a call being answered successfully:

If you see this message and your phone did not ring, this could mean that either
you entered the digits wrong or the service is not up and the Voice Detection was
just a message from the Phone Company saying, "Sorry our call could not be completed..."

Here is an example of what happens when there is no dial tone or the carrier service is
completely down:

The "No ringback detected." message indicates no dial tone. You would
get this same response even if there was no line physically plugged into the Dialer.

4. To set the line back on hook and dial again, just click Function-> OnHook.

Once you have completed the testing using Multi-Threaded Voice, you will need to
stop and restart the Dialogic cards to reset the lines before you start using the
SpitFire software again.
