Importing a List with SpitFre X ListMaker (Access Version)

This article explains how to import a list with ListMaker for SpitFire X, Access version. In other words, how to create the .mdb files that are used for dialing.
For instructions on importing a list with ListMaker Pro, click HERE.

1. Open ListMaker Access from the icon of the Desktop of the Dialer.

2. Go to Utilities->Import List.

3. Then, go to the far right of where it says ASCII Filename, and click on the yellow folder icon.

4. This will bring up the window where you will be selecting your list to import. Remember that in order for the ListMaker to import a list, the list needs to be in either txt. or csv. format.

5. The first record in the list will pull up on the left of the screen.  These fields need to be mapped from the left side to the corresponding fields on the right-hand side. That is done by clicking on the field on the left side and then clicking into the small box to the right of the field name under Field Definitions.

Note: The fields labeled Spare 1, Spare 2, etc can be modified to accept the extra data that we want to map. These Spare Fields are customizable in this way so that you can map additional information. There are 10 Spare Fields that you can use. Clicking on the Switch Spare Fields check box, at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen allows you to toggle between the first 5 and the second 5 Spare Fields.

8. Once you are done mapping out your list, it is now time to save the list. You do this by Clicking on the Save button which is located to the right of where it says List Filename.

9. This will bring up the Save As window.  You can either save this list as a new one, or add to an existing list.  If you want to add this to an existing list, go on to step 10.  If not, continue on to step 11.

10. Now choose where you want to save the file and what you want to name it.

You can also add to an existing list:
When you are in the Save As window, instead of saving the list as is, you will go in and select the list you want to add it to. Once you have selected this list click the save icon. A window will come up that say "File Already Exists, Append?" you will click yes.

11. The green light in the top right corner of the screen will now be clickable. Click on this green light to begin the import.

12. A window will come up asking if you want to scrub against the Dialer's Nocalls.mdb file. You will click Yes when you are importing leads, as in our example.

The list is now being imported, and you can see how many records are being read as well as how many are being imported at the top left of the import window.

13. When the import is complete, an Import Results window will come up.

Total Records Read: This is how many records were read from the csv or text file that was imported.
Bad Records: These are records that did not have a valid phone number.
Duplicate Records: These are records that have the same phone number as a previous record imported.
NoCall Records: Any records that were in the Dialer's nocalls database will be removed.
Total Records Imported: Total records, minus the Bad, NoCall and Duplicates.

14. You are finished importing the list and it is ready to dial!
