Introduction

The Simple Statement script can be used to play a basic message and then hang up the call. This is the best template to use when you do not want to give your customers any options to press any touch tones. The message you record can be played to both answering machines and live people or you can have 2 different messages, one for answering machines and a different one for live connects. It is one of the the simplest templates to configure in ScriptMaker for the SpitFire X Autodialer software.

Creating the Script

1. First, open ScriptMaker from the shortcut on the Desktop and click on the Create New Script   icon.

2. Then type in the name you want to give the new script. In this example, we just named it Simple Statement.

3. Once Save is clicked, you will see the layout of the script in the main, ScriptMaker window.

Dial-Answer (Answering Machine Message)

4. Click on Dial-Answer to configure the Answering Machine section of the script.

5. Click the top cassette tape icon  to open WaveMaker if you want to record the message at the Dialer. You will need a microphone and speakers plugged into the Dialer's sound card to do that.
For more instructions on how to use WaveMaker to record the messages, click on the THIS link.

6. Click the yellow folder , next to the cassette tape icon to load in a WAV file that you have recorded somewhere else and then copied to the Dialer.

7. In either case, make sure you record the wav files in the correct format, depending on what type of phone lines you are using and/or if CTI32 is installed on the Dialer. See THIS article for the WAV file specs.

Note: Ignore the icons for the DB Field (for TTS) unless you have the optional Text To Speech feature. If you do, Tech Support will help you configure those.

8. Next, set the Dial Rings parameter to indicate how many rings will be allowed before the Dialer gives up and moves on to the next call.

The typical setting for this (especially if you want to reach answering machines) is 5 or 6.

9. Then click the Save button, in the bottom right-hand corner of the Dial-Answer window.

Statement 1 (Live Person Message)

10. Next is the Statement 1 section. This is the part of the script that will play when the Dialer detects a live, voice connect. Click on it to configure that section of the script.

11. Again, you will notice the cassette tape icon and yellow folder for recording or loading your WAV file. Click the yellow folder icon and select the WAV file you have already loaded into the Dial-Answer part of the script if you want the same message to play for both answering machines and live connects. However, if you want to record a separate message, click the cassette tape icon.

Saving Your Script

12. Click the Save button in the bottom, right-hand corner of the Statement 1 window to go back to the main ScriptMaker window. Then click the Save  button in the main window.

13. Click Save once more to save the changes to the new script.

Very Important: You must save the script at the end of any configuration changes to a new or existing script. If you do not save the script INI file, all of your settings will be LOST.

14. Once you have saved the script, you can close ScriptMaker and use your new script!
